The fourth day of competition proved to be one for the record books as the field was dramatically narrowed to the final eight competitors.

As a means to introduce surfing to America’s psychologically and physically wounded veterans, Verizon and Operation Amped recently put together a memorable session at San Onofre.

DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS
The third day of competition saw a slight decrease in swell met with sheet glass conditions. As has been par for the event, the caliber of surfing today was nothing short of amazing with the likes of Gabriel Medina and Occy all standing tall by day’s end.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
The second day of competition at the Nike Lowers Pro saw a slight deterioration of conditions from yesterday’s perfection, but still proved extremely rippable as some of the most progressive surfers in the world took to the cobblestone point.
DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
The first day the Nike Lowers Pro bore witness to picture-perfect conditions as overhead sets swept through the lineup, offering competitors an idyllic venue to display their own breed of progressive surfing.
BOARD CERTIFIABLE
Designing the right board is the shaper’s burden, but choosing the right board is the surfers’, and both responsibilities weigh heavy at Lower Trestles; a place where long walls and wide open faces demand every last drop of performance of equipment.
